People have been writing in the comment section asking why we no longer post the poem with in the newsletter. It is quite simple really. We have ceased all production on TWA with the exception of this Substack newsletter. If we were to place the audio and the text within this newsletter, we would need to request publisher’s permission for each and every day. By using the link, we direct you to the archive site where the poem has resided since it was first broadcast. We hope that with a simple click, you get what you need. Thank you for your continued interest in TWA even if it is now in a more dated form.
A more dated form? TWA lives! What is more, while older, I am not yet a date on a tombstone, not yet a dated form.
GK has moved on, but the bio’s and poetry are timeless. They are life giving— emotional, spiritual, artistic, linguistic and aspirational life. Does a song age? A poem? A life having been well-lived?
As the verse goes that applies to TWA, “…and this gives life to me.”
Can't see why people are finding this format difficult! I'm happy to hear poems again. Let's give Garrison credit for continuing to provide us with our daily TWA!
