As I read elsewhere and is almost said in the story about Y2K the disaster over the year being only two digits in computers could have happened but the computer geeks kept it from happening due to the incredible work they did to prevent it. As it was there were minor glitches but not any major ones that could have happened without the work done to prevent them.
