I was heavily influenced by the Beat Generation. Of course, Jack Kerouac is a bohemian icon. On the Road became one with the zeitgeist of the mid century blues. Gary Snyder like so many other beatniks explored Buddhism finding Zen constructed in the ordinary things. I was less familiar with Edmund Wilson as a man of letters. I read the Great Gatsby awhile ago. Fitzgerald was a complex, tortured novelist. Alcohol delirium shrank the greatness of many artists moons ago.
