Novelist Tami Hoag celebrates her 64th birthday today. She grew up in a tiny town called Harmony, Minnesota, and she made up stories to entertain herself because there wasn’t much to do in Harmony. She wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first book, Black Pony, as a third-grade school project when she was nine years old. She has since written romance's, thrillers, and other works.
I do enjoy these but was disheartened to discover that they are all reprints of old pieces without even a nod to editing to reflect current dates or deaths. Seems a bit lazy. Wouldn’t take you or some intern much to note that the correct number of years had passed since a figure’s death (or that death had occurred) (not to amend mention of a re-perish, to borrow one of yours) or other occasion. Noting “reprint from 2007” only makes me realize that come Dec 31 I can cease reading these entirely, as I would a quotation-a-day desk calendar. Sigh.
