P.G. Wodehouse was born on this day in 1881. He was a humorist and novelist best known for his character of Jeeves, the valet to featherbrained Bertie Wooster.
One error (which I commented on when this piece first ran in 2016) but which wasn't corrected: Bertie Wooster was not "of Blandings Castle." Blandings Castle housed other characters in other novels, but not Bertie Wooster, and none of the Wooster novels is set in Blandings Castle. Bertie lived in a posh flat in London and occasionally stayed at the country manor homes of one or more of his aunts.
What about Wodehouse and his capture and use by the Nazis? How could have possibly left that out? Shocked.
