One of the 2 mules pulling MLK's casket belonged to Ed Peek. He lived near me in Ellenwood GA. His grandson Gary and I were childhood friends. Ed would come to my dad's store to pick up his wife Emma at the bus stop every day. Gary and I would play till she got there.

That store property remained in our family until 2016 when it was stolen by a corrupt Clayton county sheriff deputy and sold to 2 corrupt lawyers without my knowledge. I didn't know it for 6 months. In the ensuing court battle a special master ( former law partner of one of the lawyers) and three corrupt judges ruled the theft legal when there was nothing legal about it. There is a story here. Thank you for the civil war history. Combined with Heather Cox Richardson's account, this is good to remember. Very good. Now if only folks WOULD remember.
