Leonard Cohen wrote the much loved “Hallelujah”. I consider it to be one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. But it has some of the wackiest lyrics to go with it. Inspirational music shouldn’t elicit “wtf?” moments.
Poor Girolamo. No wonder there’s so many Catholics as they reigned with fear and people followed simply because they were frightened of what would happen to them if they weren’t Catholic. Then down thru the ages generations just accepted Catholicism. “One true faith”? Hardly.
And, yes, I was once a Catholic until I realized what the church really was. Wonder why they didn’t have to live the Ten Commandments…..’Thou shalt not kill’ for just one.
